Blizzard Entertainment (Blizzard) acquired the US Boston-based studio proletarian on the 1st (local time).
Blizzard announced that it has been acquired to actively support its MMORPG World of Warcraft players.
Proletaria was founded in 2012 by Insumniak, Harmonic, and Turbine-born veterans. The Proletaria Team has an in-depth experience in developing MMORPG, including the former chief designers who participated in the development of Ashron Call, the Lord of the Lord of the Rings and the Dungeon & Dragons Online.
Proletaria has been running live games for nearly 10 years, and has recently launched Spell Break, a cross-platform action order Battle Royal Game, which has been praised by the critics. Proletaria Studio is based on Boston.
Proletaria has been collaborating with the World of Warcraft Development Team since May and will be completely integrated into Blizzard Entertainment over the next months. The acquisition of Proletaria is expected to play an important role in achieving the mission of Blizzard Entertainment, which wants to create talented teams creatively and culturally in creating AAA game experiences with various symbolic franchises.
